FAQs

What is Chasing Tails Pet Farm?

CTPF is a free range doggy boarding and daycare facility. We have transportation services for a large area of Nashville for easy pick up and drop off. We also offer grooming and training!

What does Free Range mean?

We provide an open play environment for our boarding and daycare dogs. This means they spend most of the day in a group with other dogs, whether indoors or outside. Pups are only in crates for feeding times, naptime/overnight, or during any inclement weather.

Should my dog go to daycare? If so, How often?

Daycare is a great way for dogs to expend their energy, socialize with others, and build confidence! Daycare is open to all breeds and sizes. Dogs must be at least 4 months old to come. Whether your dog likes to lounge around or run and play, they'll love CTPF.

We recommend sending your pup to daycare on a regular basis, anywhere from 1 to 3 days a week and more. Some of our clients even come 5 days a week.

What is the first step to getting our pup(s) into Chasing Tails for boarding or daycare?

Give us a call! After we get some basic contact info we can schedule you for a Trial Day! You can also book now here on the site! Once we get your reservation request, we will reach out to confirm with you within 48hrs.

What is the Trial Day and how does that work?

The trial day is a complimentary day of daycare where you drop your pup off with us early in the morning, they spend the day with us as we introduce them to our group setting and see how they do. At the end of the day, depending on your location we can bring them home to you or you can come pick them up!

What Vaccines are required to visit?

All pups entering the kennel must be up to date on the following:

DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella, and K9 Influenza.

What types of Dog Training do you offer?

We offer a wide range of training services where we focus on Basic Obedience Training. We can train at your home, at our facility, or in a public place such as parks or stores.  For more details, visit our Training Page!

What should I send with my doggo?

All we want is their food! We don't allow any toys, blankets, bedding, bones, etc. Most daycare dogs don't come with food, but we can give them a lunch if you want to send a portion of their food.

If needed, we can give House Food to your doggo for any feeding times for an additional charge each feeding.

How do I pack food for a boarding stay?

All food must be sent to us in a solid container with a lid that latches or locks on. The container must be labelled with First and Last name of the dog, and amounts and times to feed. In the event we receive food without a container, we will provide a container for you to keep, at an additional charge of $15.

MEDICATION:

It is important that meds be kept in the original pill bottles or you can send the pill bottles with their food.

What is House food?

We offer house food as an extra option for your boarding stay.  We prefer to keep all the dogs in our care on the diet that they are used to, but if they need to board and don't have their food,  we can feed them our house food for an additional charge each feeding.  The food we use is "Taste of the Wild, Sierra Mountain canine formula with Roasted Lamb." We use a grain-free and poultry free food to avoid most allergies. If your dog has allergies or special food needs please contact our office!

How do you handle inclement weather?

We have two heated and airconditioned buildings that offer open space for indoor play.

Based on the weather we balance indoor and outdoor free play.

We have a blog post dedicated to this!  Click here to read our blog for more details!

What days / times can I drop off or pick up my doggos?

We are open for daycare Monday through Saturday, 7am to 5pm.  Sundays we are only open to boarding drop offs/ pick ups until 11am. We take a lunch break that can very from 11am - 2pm. If you must come at that time, call us to make arrangements.

Do you accept any pets other than dogs?

Currently, we are only accepting dogs. However, please feel free to reach out to us about any other pet needs you may have. Our staff are all animal lovers and are here to help!

Do dogs ever get hurt?

Safety is our top priority, but it is possible for dogs to sustain minor scratches, bumps, or bruises during normal play. More serious injuries are extremely rare. Our dog trainers and staff are trained to monitor the dogs' behavior, and have years of experience in daycare settings.
